Central heating and hot water is produced by solar thermal panels and an easy to use wood-burning boiler stove in the extension. This is backed up by an electric immersion heater in the utility room. There is a free, unlimited supply of firewood for the boiler stove and wood-burner in the downstairs bedroom.
